Once more with Ziel

Repco is taking aim at the Australian automotive lighting aftermarket with its new range of Ziel products.

The Ziel range has been benchmarked to offer performance that is the same or better than leading brands already on the market.

And the entire range is available individually rather than in pairs, reducing costs for repairers seeking individual auxiliary lamp or driving light replacement.

According to Repco product manager Gavin Kronberg, all Ziel automotive lighting products are modular, the selection of separate driving light beam patterns for specific night driving applications is made easy and more cost effective, and there's a full range of driving, spot, fog and work lights.

The slimline steel and black-chrome finished range of Ziel driving lights has been designed to meet ADR requirements and every product selected for the local Ziel range is covered by a three-year warranty.

The Ziel range also includes general automotive worklamps, truck/trailer lamps and side markers - including a full multi-voltage LED range.

Repco now stocks some unique products in this range, one of which is the most commonly used rear combination truck lamp in LED. (Repco part number 5292010)

Oh yeah, Ziel was a sponsor of the 2003 Carrera Cup Series, so to receive a limited edition full colour Ziel Porsche GT3 poster for your workshop, send an e-mail to mmazur@repco.com.au.

The new look, full colour catalogue contains more than 80 pages and Tridon claims it has the most up-to-date vehicle application list in the market.

Armor All has broadened its product range with the launch of concentrated Armor All Windscreen Wash.

The stuff is made in Australia to suit local conditions and it's claimed to be able to cut through and remove road film, dirt and insect innards.

It uses a low foaming formula to ensure a streak-free finish for maximum visibility.

Armor All Windscreen Wash comes in a 500ml PET plastic bottle with an RRP of $3.59, so it's good value for money for your customers. Oh, and it's good for five top-ups of a standard car windscreen reservoir.

    Hydraulic range extended

Engineered Products Group's (EPG) Fluid Power Division has extended its range of screwed gland hydraulic cylinders due to increased demand.

The move means EPG now has Top Link Cylinders to fit to tractor-spec three-point linkages, allowing complete control of the top link from the tractor cab.

Available in all bores and stroke sizes, with either CAT 1 (3/4") or CAT 2 (1") pin sizes, the new range saves time and back strain since operators don't have to leave the cabin to adjust the Top Link.

As well as tractor applications, Top Link Cylinders can be used on mixers, boom cranes, post-hole diggers, forklifts and many other types of equipment.

EPG has also upgraded its female Clevis Cylinders. They are now manufactured with a one piece end cap, machined from billet steel, so no more welded lugs.

They're available in sizes from 1.5" bore to 5" bore with stroke lengths from 6" to 48". Other stroke lengths are available on request.

Lukey's range of exhaust tips has now been extended to suit latest models like the BA Falcon and VY Commodore.

Lukey Tips are made from stainless steel, which means they won't flake, rust or tarnish as some chrome-finished products will. By using stainless steel, Lukey has got around the old problem of chrome having a different heat-expansion rate to the metal used in making conventional tips, which means the chrome finish can break away from the metal over time.

All Lukey Tips have also recently been re-engineered to increase their durability and are competitively priced against the chrome competition.

Talk to your Lukey distributor for the full details.

If you've already sampled the Narva Arctic Blue headlight globes, you'll know all about the purer, whiter light they produce.

But until now, that same technology hasn't been available in Narva's auxiliary lighting. Until now, that is...

Narva's Ultima 175 Blue driving lamps and given a special blue coating during production that gives that crisper, whiter light consumers are looking for. At 175mm diameter, the lamps fit between the top and bottom rungs of an average bull-bar perfectly.

They also use the rotary cup mounting system and they're available in spread-beam or pencil-beam or a combination kit that includes one of each and should be popular.

And to make sure their shelf presence isn't missed, there's eye-catching new metallic packaging to make them leap off the shelf.

Talk to Narva for more details.

    HiLux on the canvas

Remember your grandad telling you how they had to wear hessian underpants during the depression?

Well, looks like the good times are here again at Toyota with the launch of - wait for it - canvas seat covers.

Okay, so they make a bit of sense for those of us who wind up grubby before morning smoko time and stay grubby for the whole day.

Apparently the queen has ordered a set for the royal HiLux.

Talk to a Toyota dealer for your set.

    Toyota gets wood

Just when you thought maybe you'd seen the last of woodgrain interior kits, Toyota comes along with a new one.

The latest is designed to fit the LandCruiser 100 Series in GXL spec. And while you could argue that Toyota is about a decade behind the trend, there's no arguing with the success of the four-wheel-drive market.

According to the latest figures, the market for off-roaders and soft-roaders has grown 33.8 per cent over 2002 and nearly 10,000 luxury four-wheel-drives were sold in October last year alone.

Frightening, but kind of nice if you happen to be selling accessories for or servicing the things. Which is obviously where Toyota's head is at.

    Can't blame 'em.
