MORE DRIVEALIGN® TENSIONER AND IDLER PART NUMBERS RELEASED/font>
| Gates recently released 3 NEW Idler Part Numbers & 4 NEW Tensioner Part Numbers into the range, covering 8 various applications, whilst also identifying an additional 12 NEW applications from our existing DriveAlign range. New applications include: Mitsubishi Magna, Holden Commodore, Toyota Landcruiser and Toyota RAV4.
Australian conditions are unforgiving on the drive belt system, and can lead to premature belt failure. Gates recommends that you change the drive belt tensioner with EVERY belt change.
When it comes to noise under the bonnet, no part takes as much blame as the accessory belt drive. It is often incorrectly assumed that the serpentine belt is the problem, so a new belt is installed and the problem is considered fixed. This is only a temporary fix. In addition to replacing the belt the technician should investigate the root cause which may be the automatic tensioner or idlers.
