Over 75 years of Motorsport success

The new High Performance and Racing Division of TMD Friction brings together TMD Friction and BT Bremsen-Technik, two of the most highly respected names in braking, in a unique partnership for performance and innovation. For more than 100 years, since the very beginnings of the automotive industry, the Mintex and Pagid brands have represented the very best in friction for production vehicles as well as performance cars and they have achieved unprecedented success on the track.

TMD Friction High Performance and Racing Division have been aiding the success of motor sports teams for many years. Up to 80% of the vehicles competing in some of the world's biggest endurance races, including the 24 hour races of Le Mans, Spa, Daytona and Nürburgring or the 12 hours of Sebring.

Mintex first supplied racing friction for the Blower Bentleys that won Le Mans in 1928. Competition success soon followed, Bentley's victory at Le Mans in 1929 with Mintex brake linings, was the first of 11 wins in the classic 24 hour race. In 1960 Jack Brabham won the world championship driving a Cooper fitted with Mintex brakes and in Formula 1 Mike Hawthorn and Jack Brabham between them won three World Drivers Championships on Mintex brake linings.

Today Mintex Racing has enjoyed important Championship wins in Europe, UK and USA. Amongst the many Championship wins are.

Mintex has also enjoyed success in the V8 Supercar Series in Australia. In conjunction with brake partner Alcon and V8 Supercar Team Betta Electrical, Mintex Racing “F” series compounds were chosen by Craig Lowndes in car 888 as his combination of choice. Team Betta Electrical enjoyed wins at Eastern Creek, Queensland, Sandown, a double win at Lexmark and podium finishes elsewhere.
