Welcome to the final issue of APA Journal for 2007. I can’t believe how quickly this year has passed, and how many positive changes APA has made in such a short time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our past editor – Nicole Azzopardi, for all of her hard work this year. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery and the staff at APA Journal was thrilled to see our competitors following Nicole’s lead in their September editions. However, being an innovative leader is hard work, and can often have unforseen effects. Bullying is a topic which has been prevalent in news as of late. It is assumed however, that once we leave school and enter the ‘grown up world’, bullying stops. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Bullying is a tactic used by an individual or corporation to intimidate and domineer when their perceived power is threatened. We encounter some form of bullying everyday of our lives; whether it be an aggressive driver, tailgating you on the freeway or an industry body that refuses its’ employees the right of free choice to pursue a path that is best for them. Recently many APA readers have spoken to us about their thoughts on this topic within the realm of the corporate world, and as a result APA Journal has decided to investigate this issue further, along with the effect it can have on corporations and individuals. APA Journal makes a concerted effort to avoid bullying tactics by being an impartial voice for the auto aftermarket industry and its clients. We want to establish a level playing field, because all Australians deserve a fair go.

As an experienced editor with international qualifications I am proud to be leading our team into 2008. With Nirma Ledford as our new National Sales and Marketing Manager, readers will see an even better APA Journal, with more stories, issues and topics to benefit educate and inform all of our readers. This month's issue features a range of topics from Improving your Retail Environment by Melissa Gutherie of Retail Detail, who explains how to improve the profitability of your business through signage and product placement to the latest and greatest in Workshop Tools. Christmas is coming and I think many readers will want to keep that section open, just in case Santa is still unsure about what you need. Happy Holidays from the staff at APA Journal.
