| New Bendix 4WD disc brake pads are purpose designed for 4WD and SUV applications and are right at home around town or off the beaten track.
That’s why Bendix says, “On road feel. Off road tough.”
And brake fitters and their customers will be winners from on-going product innovation plus technical and market research.
Ask experienced outback racers Jason Forssman and Jeff Redman.
Travelling at 130kph at night on a bush track you have got to be able to brake hard.
That’s why Jason and Jeff will use the new and improved Bendix 4WD brake pads when they compete again in the Australian Outback Challenge, recognised around the world as one of the toughest 4WD races.
They fitted the new Bendix pads on their powerful 4.2 litre petrol, supercharged GQ Patrol and gave the car a caning on competition tracks in the Otway Ranges, east of Geelong in Victoria.
“We were flogging the car as hard as we could and the pads didn’t miss a beat,” Jason says.
The Patrol weighs 2.5 tonnes and sits on 37 inch tyres. But Jason says the new 4WD pads need less pedal effort and bite a lot better. Even after extreme conditions — going through deep water, mud and dust — there was no problem stopping as they careered through the Otways.
They know the Bendix 4WD pads are “off road tough” so Jason drove the Patrol to Melbourne from Geelong for city-street driving and found that they did have a “good on road feel”.
Frequent braking in heavy city traffic one day, towing or outback adventure driving the next can cause overheating, fade and shorter pad life. But the new Bendix 4WD brake pads have exceptional fade resistance even when the 4WD is loaded up and running in hot weather.

The new pads are a result of extensive laboratory and on-road testing and input from Bendix global engineering resources.
They feature:
* The unique Bendix Titanium Stripe that gives the 4WD pads instant friction without bedding-in. For customers it’s a comforting pedal feel and the confidence of sure stopping power from the minute they drive out of the workshop.
* Epoxy-modified Phenolic Resin (EPR) that holds the friction material matrix together, at high and low temperatures, giving 4WD pads their structural integrity and improved strength, enhancing braking performance under extreme conditions.
* Grooves in the front pads to help expel water, dust or dirt that comes into contact with the pad during off-road use.
The new Bendix 4WD pads will give drivers confidence as they head down a bush track or pull up at the school crossing and brake fitters can fit them with confidence knowing they are just right for the job.
